JURY MEETING: MEDIA AWARD FOR DIGITAL JOURNALISM

Mobility, health, the workplace, education - there is now hardly an area of life in this country that is not affected by digitalisation. At the same time, we are noticing how poorly the digital sovereignty of each individual, Germany and Europe is in some cases. In order to strengthen this, digital literacy of the entire society is needed.

This is why the initiative "Germany - Land of Ideas" is awarding the Media Prize for Digital Literacy for the second time in partnership with the Hasso Plattner Institute, Burda Verlag, the Business Council for Democracy (BC4D) - an initiative of the non-profit Hertie Foundation, the Robert Bosch Foundation and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue Germany -, the Digital Science Foundation and the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft.

The media award honours outstanding, profound journalistic contributions that explore topics of the digital transformation of our society. The contributions should contribute to the digital literacy of the general public. The aim is to strengthen Germany's digital sovereignty across society, for which excellent journalism is indispensable.

Anna Herrhausen, Executive Director of the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, is part of the jury that will select the best contributions from the entries in September. The award ceremony will take place on 19 October 2022 in the evening in Berlin.
